Grange Park 28th Jan

Back to Grange Park and the cafe lake.
Its not my favourite, but the breakfast is the best there is. I probably should have had the breakfast and gone home. I Drew peg 12, which is the corner peg and probably should be a really good peg. maybe. when its warmer. and with a better angler.
So, we started 15 minutes before i expected, so totally disorganised again. first hour on maggot on a 22 and 0.09 and a baby carp and a couple of goldfish. Joe, to my left was tanning me already and then Chezzydan right across in the sunshine straight in front of me started catching carp in the sunny margin.
So I watched him for a bit, then chucked a small cage feeder right across the vacant peg13 and plopped it a foot from the reeds.
...and caught a carp. then nothing. two lost feeders later I went down the edge to my right, lost a rig and caught a small carp. then nothing. so i went long right across to the corner and caught another small carp.
and that was about that.
How hard is it fishing long down the right, when you're right handed.? i must work that one out.
I finished with 8lb 4oz, and for the third successive match, sat directly opposite the winner.

Results;
peg 15 chezzydan  36-12
peg 20 Kev Allen    28-8    golden peg
peg 17 Yatesey     17-0

11th..peg 12 Papakev     8-4

all the gory details here on the big bash forum

Lindholme Laurels 22nd Jan

OK, so this year I'll really try to blog every match of the year. (again)
No peg photo, but I drew Laurels 33 -- also the golden peg, so that was wasted.
This was the first Big Bash club match of the year.
It was cold, and very very windy.
33 is on a point and i had the wind mostly in my back.
I fished pole, 6 sections straight out, also fed maggots sparingly on the margins, hoping for some margin crusing trout.

I had a couple of skimmers on the pole, and bounced off three more (i really need to get sorted), but the bites were just not there.
A switch to straight lead and corn brought a carp straight away, but then nothing.
one more about 30 mins later, then for the last two and a half hours i couldn't buy a bite.
weighed 8lb 9oz and came 10th (out of 25) Not a great start.
