This is my Blog. Not much, but its mine.
It'll mostly be about fishing. There may be other stuff. Primarily I write it for me, but please say hello if you happen to find yourself here

Redwood Lakes

had a little five peg knock up on the arc at redwood lakes.

It was hard.
Finished with around 3lb

with hindsight, i should have fished maggot and a 4m whip to hand, i reckon a decent weight of silvers was on the cards.
As was, i alternated between a 6m pole line, and a waggler over the far side, fishing corn.
Carp didn't show, but i had a couple of small chub and a few bits.

four of us in a row struggled, Paul on the far end got into double figures.

Barnburgh

took a battering.
got hammered off the next peg.
totally hacked off about this one.

I really must get me some dumpy pellet wagglers and sort out the technique.

i ended up with two skimmers.

Candy corner

I set up a waggler and tried to fish as close to the floating island as possible.
I either need some bigger waglers, a better rod or maybe a better technique. anyhow .. i couldn't quite get out to it, .. though close

I ended up with eight carp averaging 3 to 4 pounds, a couple of rudd and a silver blue thing the likes of which i have never seen before.. maybe a blue orfe??

I started on maggots, but changed to feed pellets and banded (hard) pellet.

Fished the last hour or so on the pole, very quiet, but caught a couple of skimmers and a perch.

Ben had around 30 pounds or so, carp and a few skimmers.
Jamie had one carp and plenty of silverfish.

By all accounts the place isn't fishing all that well at the moment, but we had a lovely day and I'll definitely go back.
